Personalized Support

Academic Success Coaching

Academic Success Coaching provides first-year students with proactive, personalized support to address challenges and build the skills necessary for their success. All incoming, first-time-in-college students are assigned to a full-time Academic Success Coach.

鈥淲hat stood out to me the most was my coach鈥檚 willingness to help me become a better student. It helped me to reflect on my main objectives without losing myself in school.鈥澨

The W鈥檚 of Academic Success Coaching

The transition from high school to college is exciting and kind of scary! Your Academic Success Coach is here to help in the times during your first year when you need some assistance but just don't know who to go to or where to start.

All first-time-in-college students are assigned a full-time professional Academic Success Coach who will stick with you through your first year at the University of Tampa.

First year students are assigned to a coach by the first letter of your last name.

Students should meet with their Academic Success Coach if they are experiencing any of the following:

  • Feeling overwhelmed with schoolwork
  • Not performing well on tests, quizzes, or assignments
  • Difficulty connecting to on-campus resources
  • Time management issues
  • Trouble studying
  • Struggling with transitioning to college life
  • Challenges navigating academic policy and procedure

Reach out to your coach as soon as you sense that you need support! Throughout the year your Academic Success Coach will check in with you via email, phone call, or text to make sure you are on track for success.

Schedule a meeting (in-person or virtual) with your assigned Academic Success Coach in the Navigate360 Student app by clicking 鈥淩esources鈥 and then 鈥淧eople鈥.

Students who need support but are not assigned a coach, can contact us at succeed@ut.edu.

Initiatives

The Office of Academic Success Initiatives administers and coordinates usage of the Navigate platform, which is 小优视频ampa鈥檚 student success management system.

Your team is ready to help you thrive in your second year at 小优视频ampa. You鈥檒l be听able to see your success team in Navigate360 and engage with them this fall. Find out more about this initiative by clicking on the button below.

During weeks five to seven of each fall and spring semester, faculty teaching undergraduate courses are asked to provide progress reports for their students. Faculty can identify if they are concerned about a student鈥檚 academic performance or attendance and provide feedback as to how they can improve.

Students can view all of their progress reports in the Navigate360 Student app. A dedicated Midterm Progress Report Triage Team responds to progress reports of concern through various outreach methods.

Early Alert allows faculty teaching select courses to report refer students who may need academic support to OASI. Once an alert is submitted for a student, students will receive outreach from their coach to offer support and connect them to campus resources. Faculty can submit early alerts in Navigate.
