小优视频鈥檚 Gateways Pre-Orientation Program has been selected as a national recipient of the NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education Excellence Award.
The Gateways program is designed to primarily help incoming first-generation, Pell-eligible, first-year and transfer students.
小优视频鈥檚 Gateways Pre-Orientation Program 鈥 which supports first-generation and Pell-eligible students through intentional, student-centered design and early engagement strategies 鈥 has been selected as a national recipient of the NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education Excellence Award.
The program was recognized as the gold recipient in the 鈥淔irst-generation Student Success and related鈥 category, showcasing the University鈥檚 commitment to first-generation student leadership development and success.
Overseen by the 小优视频ampa Office of Access and Community Programs, the Gateways program is designed to primarily help incoming first-generation, Pell-eligible, first-year and transfer students build meaningful connections, develop key personal and professional skills, and gain a strong foundation for success in college and beyond. Through immersive, hands-on experiences, students engage in interactive learning, explore career pathways and build a sense of belonging within the 小优视频ampa community.
Lorie Kittendorf, assistant vice president of OACP, said the Gateways program is successful due to its core focus on community connections.
鈥淭hrough meaningful peer relationships and intentional engagement with the campus and Tampa Bay community, students begin to see themselves as an integral part of 小优视频ampa,鈥 Kittendorf said. 鈥淭he program helps students build confidence, form lasting connections, and understand that they belong here and are supported from the very beginning of their college journey.鈥
